Who we are

Foundation for Educational Change (FEDUC) — शैक्षिक परिवर्तन प्रतिष्ठान — is a non-profit, service-oriented institution led by highly competent professionals and academics. Our team has national and international experience in human resource development, research, evaluation, monitoring, surveys, educational materials development, performance audits of educational agencies, and the design and management of education programmes.

FEDUC grew out of ESEC, an organisation established in 1990, and was registered in its current, expanded form with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu on 2058/03/14 BS (2001) under the Organization Registration Act 2034.

Nepal’s education system is in transition. Improving educational policy, practice and research is one of today’s most pressing issues, alongside producing a skilled, employable workforce through technical and vocational education. FEDUC exists to support systemic change and a professional culture in Nepal’s educational institutions and practices.

We reach remote villages, communities that have been left behind, and the mountains, hills and Terai where deprived people live.

Mission

FEDUC is committed to providing professional services to national and international educational institutions through training, research and development activities.

Objectives

  • Provide vocational training to unemployed youths in the remote communities of Nepal.
  • Provide professional services to national and international educational institutions through training, research and development activities.
  • Develop innovative training models and teaching–learning materials to change traditional educational practices.
  • Undertake surveys, studies, research and evaluation programmes, including performance audits of schools and agencies.
  • Undertake policy analysis and publications, and disseminate knowledge produced from innovation and research.
  • Provide services for project planning, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Performance audits of schools, ECED centres and other educational institutions.

Surveys and assessments

Student achievement and Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) surveys, PRA, evaluations and studies.

Training programmes

Design and delivery of education training programmes, and counselling and guidance in vocational skill development.

Curriculum and materials

Curriculum, instructional and educational materials, and publication of innovative ideas and practice.

Research

Research, action research and case studies; policy analysis and monitoring of projects and programmes.

Project and management support

Helping design and implement projects, and improving the management quality of schools and colleges.

Full-time support staff handle management, communication, records and logistics so our professionals can focus on the work.

A furnished meeting room for 20 people and three furnished office rooms in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
